Grounds Maintenance Laborer 


High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Responsible for facility grass cutting, general labor, and grounds maintenance.  Will operate and maintain basic equipment such as, but not limited to, lawnmowers, string trimmers, power buggies, and small tractors.  Will follow all safety procedures and regulations, and will ensure compliance with all federal, state and local laws and OSHA regulations.  Will use sound judgment when using equipment with particular attention around horses.  Will maintain constant surveillance of grounds for safety and report all maintenance and repairs issues immediately to the Ground Maintenance Supervisor.  Promotes outstanding customer relations.  Promotes honesty and trust amongst the team.  Performs all other duties as assigned.
Previous experience operating grass cutting vehicles preferred.  Must have valid driver’s license and meet the requirements of company Motor Vehicle Record Policy.  Must be able to lift Fifty (50) pounds and work in all weather, including extreme conditions.  Must be able and willing to climb ladders and scaffolding.  Ability to read, write, speak, understand or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the necessary functions of this position.   Ability to consistently comprehend, retain and execute written, verbal and demonstrated directions, explanations and guidance.  Ability to work in a fast paced environment and effectively communicate with guests, co-workers and management.  Must be able to walk, sit, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time without difficulty.  Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on business needs which includes days, evenings, weekends and holidays.  Must be able to obtain and keep Licenses issued by the Maryland Racing Commission and/or the Maryland State Lottery Agency if required.
