Wiener Dog Races

Registration Requirements

1. All entries must be genuine, low-to-the-ground Dachshunds.
2. All dogs must be accompanied by (2) responsible adults at least 18 years of age during the race. One individual at the start line and a second at the finish line.
3. Wiener parents must present a valid driver’s license prior to entering the venue and a liability form must be signed at the Wiener race registration tent.
4. You may use a toy to entice your dog at the start of the race, but owners must stay behind the finish line until your dog crosses. Toys may not be thrown or tossed.
5. If you touch your dog prior to before crossing the finish line, the dog will be disqualified.
6. When not actively racing, all wiener dogs present at the venue must remain on a leash.
7. Employees of Ocean Downs Casino or Ocean Downs Racetrack and their immediate families are not eligible. Immediate family means person(s) related by blood or by marriage or occupying the same household.

Friendly Dogs Welcome! For everyone’s safety and enjoyment, dogs that are disruptive or show aggressive behavior may be asked to leave.

Owner Certifications and Liability Release

Contestant agrees to indemnify and hold Ocean Downs Casino & Racetrack, its employees, and volunteers harmless from any and all claims made against Ocean Enterprise 589 LLC, including, without limitation, all costs, liabilities, judgments, expenses, damages, and attorney’s fees, arising out of or in connection with (1) any structure erected by Contestant, (2) any apparatus, equipment, or personal property used by Contestant, (3) any act or omission to act of Contestant, its agents, invitees, participants, representatives, employees, servants and agents (4) any claims made on account or resulting from Contestant’s participation in the contest.

1. I shall not hold Ocean Downs Casino or Racetrack or any event sponsor responsible or liable for (i) any injury to my dog; or (ii) any cost incurred for misbehaved dogs, accidents.
2. My dog is current on all required vaccines.
3. I agree that I am responsible for controlling my dog at all times and will pick up after my dog.
4. I agree to keep my dog on a leash except when racing in the event.
5. I agree to allow any photo or video of me or my dog taken during the race or parade to be published and used in future marketing for the event.


Must be at least 18 years old to claim prize.
